PPH is different from traditional procedures

PPH procedure reduces the prolapsed mucosa and restores anal tissue to its original anatomical position. PPH is less painful than traditional procedures because it's performed 1-2cm above the dentate, or "pain line" inside the anal canal. Traditional procedures are performed below the dentate line, affecting many sensitive nerve endings. PPH patients experience less pain and a faster recovery than those who undergo traditional procedures, allowing them to return to normal activities.

First, your doctor returns the prolapsed mocosa to its original position, lifting the hemorrhoidal tissue into place.

The doctor uses the PPH device to retract excess mucosal tissue, preparing for removal of excess tissue.

Once the excess tissue is retracted, the doctor uses the device to remove the excess tissue at the arrows shown, and reconnects the anal canal wall.

PPH reduces the blood flow to the both internal and external hemorrhoids, which typically shrink within four to six weeks.
