Arthur Gerrick first joined Tri-City Regional Medical Center in 1972 as the Chief Executive Officer and remained in that position until the facility was leased to Charter Medical Corporation in 1983. During his tenure, he was instrumental in achieving many awards for the institution from healthcare agencies.
In 1997, when Charter Medical Corporation’s lease expired, Mr. Gerrick was asked to return to operate Tri-City Regional Medical Center. He stated that it would be an enormous task to take on a challenge of opening a hospital considering all the legal and financial changes that have taken place during the last 15 years, i.e. Managed Care, HMO’s, PPO’s, and IPA’s. Probably the greatest challenge is the addition of 44 million people on the uninsured rolls of which over 40% of the California population is included.
Twelve years later, the hospital has 325 physicians on the medical staff and is a thriving facility serving the community with the finest quality that healthcare can provide with state of the art medical equipment.
