Cardiopulmonary services are designed to evaluate the needs of patients with heart and lung problems. Services are provided to primarily adult and geriatric patients, ages 14 and older on an inpatient or outpatient services.
The various types of tests and procedures that are performed help physicians to diagnose ongoing or serious medical conditions. The department is certified through the College of American Pathologists and has achieved outstanding survey results.
Some of our services include:
· Cardiac Stress Testing. This procedure is ordered to assist with the diagnosis of certain heart conditions.
· Pulmonary Function Testing. This procedure helps determine lung capacity and is beneficial in determining the effects of various types of lung or respiratory conditions.
· Electrocardiograms [EKG]. This test is used to evaluate heart muscle function and certain cardiac conditions.
· Echocardiograms. This test is used to evaluate the capacity of the heart to pump effectively and helps to evaluate the effects of certain conditions on heart function.
The department is staffed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Qualified and competent Respiratory Therapists also respond to the needs of patients of all ages, who are seen in our Emergency Department. As an integral part of the clinical health team, we are committed to providing the best start on the road to recovery.
All services are provided based on a physician's order. Outpatient services are scheduled through the physician's office on an appointment basis.
